Anker 633: When to Use Wireless Charging or the USB-C Port
Share
The Anker 633 Magnetic Battery offers up to 7.5W wirelessly and up to 20W through USB-C. Its 20W rating is not the wireless charging speed. Choose the connection according to your phone and the way you want to use it, then check that charging has actually started.

The Anker 633 Magnetic Battery combines a magnetic charging surface with a foldable stand and wired ports. Those features solve different everyday problems. Thinking about the connection before leaving home is more useful than packing a battery and assuming every charging method behaves the same way.
Read the two output ratings separately
Anker's A1641 specifications list a 7.5W wireless maximum and USB-C output profiles up to 9V at 2.22A, approximately 20W. These are limits, not a promise that your phone will continuously receive that amount. They also do not establish a fixed charging time.
A useful shopping note has three separate fields: battery model, connection, and output limit. Writing “633 / wireless / 7.5W maximum” avoids carrying the larger wired number into your expectations for the magnetic surface.
Use the stand when viewing is the priority
The foldable stand lets a compatible phone rest upright while using the magnetic charging surface. Think of a desk break when you want to view messages without holding the phone. Check the actual phone-and-case combination before relying on it away from home.
Anker recommends iPhone-compatible magnetic cases for this model and warns that magnetic or metal attachments and cards can weaken attraction. If the combination is uncertain, consult the current compatibility guidance rather than assuming that a magnetic accessory establishes charging compatibility.
Bring the right cable for a wired option
If you want to use the USB-C output, identify the connector on your phone first. A USB-C-to-USB-C cable and a USB-C-to-Lightning cable are different items. The shape of the battery's port tells you only one end of the connection.
For a phone with a compatible USB-C charging port, DigiDevice carries the Anker Prime USB-C-to-USB-C cable. Its higher cable rating does not turn the 633 into a higher-output battery. Use an appropriate cable you already own if it meets your device's requirements; buying a higher-rated cable is not a way to increase the bank's 20W limit.
Run a departure check
- Check the battery's charge level before packing.
- Connect the exact phone and cable you intend to carry.
- Confirm the phone shows charging, rather than relying on physical attachment.
- Try the stand on the surface where you expect to use it.
- Decide where the battery and cable will sit while connected so the arrangement is practical.
For the rest of your bag, follow our everyday tech-pouch checklist. The goal is a verified charging option for your actual phone, with a backup connection you understand—not the largest wattage number on the packaging.
